Is there something I can do about an website hosting company that will not return phone calls or emails?

There is a website hosting company that will not return my calls or emails. I can’t cancel anywhere on the site, yet they charge me over and over again. Is there anyone I can call to stop this company?

Unfortunately a lot of the cheap hosting companies have a rubbish customer service and charge you extra to speak to someone who can actually help you.

If you bought the domain from a separate company you could try and withhold payment from the hosting company and just reroute the domain to a new host. (This can lead to the balliffs being called in to collect your debt). Don’t do this if your host also controls the domain because you could lose it.

At the end of the day, you only get what you pay for – so a cheap hosting = lousy service.

    Good luck

Yes. Start documenting your efforts to contact the company. Continue trying to get in contact with the company as best as you can. Then seek the advice of your credit card company.

    1. Check their policy/agreement to ensure that you’re following the proper procedure for canceling the account.

    2. Keep a record of all attempts to contact them. Emails sent, dates, times, phone calls, etc. This is your proof that you made a good, faithful attempt to properly cancel the service.

    3. If you’ve done everything by the book and have also given them some time to respond but still have no luck, contact your credit card company or bank and have them stop all transactions.

    4. File a complaint: http://welcome.bbb.org/
Actually, you should checkout this site before freezing the transactions.

I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements.
